Travel Grants

To support participation and recognise excellence in research, we are pleased to offer a range of travel grants and awards for eligible delegates.

Travel Grants

We are offering International Travel Grants (AUD $3,000 each) and Domestic Travel Grants (AUD $1,000 each) for postdoctoral fellows and students attending the conference.

Travel grant recipients will be selected based on the quality of their submitted abstracts.

Rising Star Awards

Submissions are also open for the 2026 IDS Rising Star Award, which aims to foster career development and recognise outstanding early-career translational scientists or clinician-researchers in the field of type 1 diabetes research.

Award recipients will receive:

AUD $4,000 (international applicants) or AUD $1,000 (Australia-based applicants) towards travel and accommodation

Complimentary conference registration and dinner ticket

An opportunity to deliver an invited presentation in the dedicated Rising Star session

JAD-T1D IDS 2026 Travel Grant

To promote the advancement of type 1 diabetes research in Japan and to encourage the active participation of early-career investigators, the Japan Study Group of Advanced Diabetes Treatment and Type 1 Diabetes (JAD-T1D) has established the “IDS 2026 Travel Grant by the JAD-T1D.” We warmly welcome applications from members of the JAD-T1D.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Members of the JAD-T1D who are 40 years of age or younger.
2. Approval from your supervisor
3. Awardees must present a report on IDS 2026 at the 2026 JAD-T1D meeting.
4. Awardees must present the work in person; substitute presentations are not permitted.

Among the abstracts submitted from Japan to IDS 2026, eligible presentations will be reviewed by the committee from the JAD-T1D. Therefore, after completing your submission to IDS 2026, please send a copy of the abstract with information regarding the above eligibility criteria to the secretariat of the JAD-T1D at: secret-2@intergroup.co.jp

Two awardees are anticipated, and each awardee will receive a grant of 250,000 JPY.

Awardees will be notified via email and announced to the members of the JAD-T1D via the website.

The 2026 IDS Congress will be held on the traditional lands for the Turrbal and Jagera/Yuggera Peoples, and we respect their spiritual relationship with their country. The IDS and ADS acknowledge that the Turrbal and Jagera/Yuggera Peoples are the custodians of Brisbane City, and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still important to the living Turrbal and Jagera/Yuggera Peoples today. We pay our respects to Elders both past, present, and emerging and to the members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community
